At preschool Camryn drew a picture of her new birds for Elody. I love that she can not only write her own name but also taught herself how to write Elody's name :) AND I was quite impressed with her artistic ability!

Once a year I remember why we only carve pumpkins once a year ;)

Camryn was VERY particular about what she wanted her pumpkin to look like. First it had to be tall and skinny (like her) and then it had to have diamond eyes, a circle nose, and a smiling mouth.

This was the first year that Camryn really dug right in. She was able to clean out pretty much all of the seeds. Speaking of the seeds, little Miss I-Know-What-I-Want insisted that we save the pumpkin seeds so we can plant them and then she will have pumpkins to share with her friends next year. For now the seeds are in a zip lock bag, what do you suppose the chance is that she will forget them??

Elody was not so sure about this and did not dig in as fast as Camryn. She put her hand barely inside the pumpkin a few times and then pulled it right back out.

and then quickly pulled her hand out and freaked out a little bit :-)
She finally did scoop out a little but I of course ended up doing most of hers.
These are the pumpkins the girls decorated earlier this month. Camryn was pretty proud of their "pumpkin family."

Pumpkin Patch 2011

Today we decided to enjoy the beautiful weather and make a trip to the pumpkin patch. I didn't really want to do it this early in the month but after checking the forecast for next weekend we decided to go for it. The girls had a BLAST! They are finally old enough to do pretty much all of the activities there and Camryn of course remembered everything from last year (I swear that child doesn't forget ANYTHING!). Elody's New Bed!

Elody has been patiently waiting for her new big girl bed to get finished and we finally got all of the finishing touches done today.

I have never seen a 2 year old soooo excited about a bed!

This is what it actually looks like.... It's a little too tall to not have a side rail and daddy was even nice enough to get her the stool :-)

First day of Preschool!

Camryn was not so sure about going to preschool today (typical for her recent behavior) but she was pretty excited about her new backpack.

Definitely NOT the backpack I would have picked but I gave in and let her have a princess backpack.

Elody REALLY wanted to go too. She even packed her favorite toys in her backpack!





Still, Elody really wanted to go!

VBS songs during Church Aug 14th

I posted all 4 videos from church this morning. The VBS kids sang the songs they learned this week so Camryn FINALLY got to sing on stage! There are 2 videos for each service. Part one includes Nothing is Impossible with God, Beautiful One, and Big House (Camryn's fave). Part two includes Lord I Lift Your Name on High, Great Things, and Jesus Messiah.
I love watching Camryn do the actions especially in Jesus Messiah. She definitely loosened up and did better second service. She was VERY nervous (which is obvious since she has all kinds of nervous habits like twisting her hair and chewing her nails) but went up there and you could tell she was trying VERY hard to get the words and actions and we were very proud of her!

Before going to Grandma Jo's I showed the girls the pictures from the last time we where there (2 years ago). Immediately after arriving Camryn INSISTED that she go out and try on Grandma's hat again, and then of course she posed for us :)
