Monday Moments #21~ School's out!!!

The girls have been out of school for almost a week now and we have had a great time! We got the girls started on the summer reading program and also got signed up for Kids Bowl Free. The girls have been doing some "school" each morning (mainly math, reading, and journaling) and then have had lots of fun doing all kinds of things each afternoon.

Camryn has gotten much better at bowling, but the bumpers still don't hurt :)

somehow this is the only picture I got of Elody, sassy as always!

Camryn lost 2 more teeth! I think the tooth fairy might run out of money soon!
This weekend Camryn and I went to Omaha with Kelly and Regan. Elody choose to stay home with Brian and got to do lots of fun things like bowling, mini golf, and go on bike rides to the park. Kelly, Regan, Camryn and I headed off Saturday morning on another geocaching adventure. Saturday we did the geo-cross near Ashland that consists of 66 caches (one for each book of the bible). We spent 4 hours doing those and then headed on to Omaha. During the cross caches we got our 1000th cache. Camryn might be the only (not-quite) 7 year old that finds that to be extremely exciting!
Sunday we decided to go after caches that were a little more fun. We got some of the highest rated in the state and also some bigger caches.
Holy Family Shrine: I have always wanted to stop here and bonus- it is a virtual geocache as well.

Regan and Camryn had a great time together:)

Monday moments #20~ BIG moments at our house

It was a busy week at our house last week. Brian is playing softball 2 nights a week and Camryn had swimming lessons everyday at 5 last week. I'm not sure who thought 5 pm was a good time to do lessons, but it definitely wasn't the best time for us. Camryn had a great time! She didn't learn a whole lot in such a short time but it definitely got her comfortable in the water again which doesn't usually happen until about half way through the summer.

In other news this week, Camryn is losing more teeth! She lost the 3 on the bottom not too long ago and then Friday morning she lost one on the top. The other top middle tooth will probably be out within the next week and a 4th bottom tooth will hopefully be out in the next day. This means we have officially entered that awkward goofy stage of life where she has missing teeth, huge adult teeth with jagged edges, and baby teeth that are hanging crooked and bleeding : /

awkward and goofy but still as beautiful as ever!!
Elody almost got left out of this post but I decided to come back and add to my original post. Today is Elody's last day of preschool, FOREVER! I have no idea how my baby is already done with preschool and ready to head to Kindergarten!

Somehow Elody wore the same outfit on her first and last day last year when she went to preschool at God Made Me Preschool. This year she started at God Made Me again but after a few days we switched her to Morton Preschool. Somehow she again wore the same outfit on her first and last day at Morton. Total coincidence! I can't believe how much she has changed since her first day back in September 2012, she is so grown up now!

Monday moments #19~ AWANA awards night

Wednesday was the girls' last day of AWANA. Elody is officially done with Cubbies and will join Camryn in Sparks next year. Both girls finished their books this year so they received a certificate and a ribbon. They were very proud of themselves and of course they always love a chance to get up on stage :)

Monday Moments #18~ Elody's belated birthday present

Elody and Mary Lyn
Last fall Elody found an Our Generation Doll (similar/cheaper version of an American Girl doll) at Target and immediately fell in love with it. I planned to get it for Christmas or her birthday but it quickly sold out and wasn't restocked. We searched multiple Targets and checked online countless times but never found it. At Christmas the doll she wanted was going for almost 3 times the price on ebay and still is selling for more than double the original price. Recently while looking for Camryn's present Brian's parents found the doll Elody wanted! We have had it for a couple weeks now and finally decided to go ahead and give it to her.
she was beyond excited!
After a quick change of clothes Elody and Mary Lyn decided to watch a movie.
This truly was one of those "moments." There isn't much that makes me happier than watching the girls get excited about something. Even Camryn was happy for Elody and is welcoming Mary Lyn as if she is a new member of our family. It is so cute to watch the girls talk to her like she is a friend rather than a toy. Elody even seemed slightly offended when I referred to Mary Lyn as a doll :)
