Finally a week with something to post!!
Last week the girls and I went to Minden to eat lunch with Brian. After lunch Brian went back to work and the girls and I went to Pioneer Village. I have wanted to take them there for quite some time but it never seemed to work out. I was cautiously hopeful that the girls would enjoy it and it ended up that they loved it! I didn't think they would have any interest in the old buggy's, cars and tractors but they took quite a bit of time looking at each one and Camryn attempted to read every sign. Their enthusiasm about the cars eventually faded (especially since they have building after building after building filled with them!) but they quickly moved on and found other things to get excited about. They loved going in the different buildings and of course made a friend or two.

| They loved looking at everything in the main building |
| Camryn doesn't have the love of trains that she had when she was around the age of 2, but she still can't pass up the chance to climb on one. |
| and of course pretend to drive it! |
| Camryn was trying to look sad |
| that girl's got quite a frown! |
| their favorite friend of the day, the broom maker |
| He showed them how to run the machine that wraps the wire around |
| Elody was quite good at it! |
| Then he let them do some "sewing" |
We ended up spending 3-4 hours there and the girls never seemed to get bored. Having grown up 30 miles from Pioneer Village I have gone there a number of times. It is sad that the place is somewhat rundown now and has struggled to stay open. In a world where everyone wants to be entertained by state-of-the-art, high-tech gadgets I am glad my kids can still appreciate the simple things in life.
