Sunday Snapshot #22 part 2~ Elody's pics

Since writing the post with Camryn's pics I was able to convince Elody to let me take her pictures too. Then after taking pictures she fell off of her bike and scraped her face up. I'm shocked I managed to get the pictures done before bashing her face in!

we had to fight the wind and the goofy 4 year old smile but we got a few good ones :)

you always have to take time to play :)

Fighting the laugh

Full on laugh

still trying to not laugh but still smile :)
Then Elody and I dropped off Camryn and Daddy and headed downtown for a slightly different style of photo...

When did she grow up?!?!

And this is when I know she is done!!

Sunday Snapshot #22~ Finally some new pics!

This week Camryn turns SIX! It hit me the other day that this means she is already 1/3 of the way done with childhood. I can't even start to explain how a feel about this. Luckily, for now, she is totally attached to me. While it is somewhat annoying every now and then, I try to cherish the fact that she wants me to sleep with her each night. Unfortunately for her I don't actually sleep with her but we compromise with a few minutes of snuggling.

Last week I was finally able to talk Camryn into taking some new pictures. Pictures with Camryn is always entertaining because you have to let Camryn choose a pose before I can tell her what I would like her to do. This means you get a lot of over the top smiles and weird arm angles, like this:

She seems to be learning though, this is also a Camryn pose.
Camryn choose this location and posed herself.

SOOO Pretty!

Another one of Camryn's poses, she is quite the model!

Now if I could just convince Elody to let me take some new pics of her...

Sunday Snapshot #21~ The Great Outdoors

We have finally been able to enjoy some good weather! This week we finished planting the flowers the girls picked out a while ago. The girls helped fill in with potting soil and then got all of the flower in, well actually Elody planted 1 and went to swing while Camryn finished the rest... a win-win as far as they were concerned.

Camryn showing off her favorite shoes, they are at least a size and a half too big but she of course doesn't mind.

all done! I hope they bloom.
We also recently changed the fencing in the backyard. The old fence was a really old double loop wire fence that was falling in and had grown into the trees along the back of our property. We were able to get all of the new wood fence used for just over $100. We had EXACTLY enough fence panels and only had to buy a couple extra posts. It is only 4 feet tall which doesn't provide a ton of privacy but it keeps the kids in and it looks much nicer. Besides our yard isn't very big and tall fence would probably make it feel smaller!

This corner isn't finished but the flower tower turned out great!
Camryn has been riding without training wheels for a week now. I can't believe how fast she picked it up! She has no fear and would be happy to ride about 12 1/2 hours every day.
Brian took the girls around the block last night, Elody wasn't supposed to go but her tears won Camryn over so she got to go too.

Camryn was such a good sister, riding extra slow so Elody could keep up.

Elody was pretty proud of herself!

Sunday Snapshot #20~ End of Preschool and Kindergarten (and Bike Rides!!)

Tuesday was Elody's last day of Preschool. Thankfully she has another year of preschool because I am not ready to lose her to kindergarten yet!

She wore this same outfit on the first day of preschool, someday she might hate me for this :)

SOOO pretty!

Of course we celebrated with an Eileen's cookie :)

Also this week Camryn finished Kindergarten.

and of course Camryn had to have a cookie too!
A couple weeks ago Camryn decided that she wanted to take the training wheels off her bike, she has practiced a few times but always freaked out and stopped after a trip or 2 to the corner. Yesterday for some reason she decided she wanted to do it on her own. She pushed herself around the front yard a few times but couldn't get to pedaling because she didn't have enough room. After supper we took the bikes to an empty parking lot so Camryn would have more room. I was getting Brian's phone ready to record her and she stopped me and said "this is just a practice mom." Seconds later she was gone. This video shows her first ride (once I finally got the camera going) and then her second try. Then it stated sprinkling so I put the phone away. She continued in the rain and perfected stopping with the brakes rather than her feet and also learned how to turn! She was so proud of herself and was extra excited that she did it before she turned 6!!

Sunday Snapshot #19~ The "end of the year" begins

It's hard to believe Camryn has less than a week left of Kindergarten and Elody only has one more day of Preschool. Let the end of the year programs begin....

Last Wednesday night was AWANA awards night.

So proud of my girls for working so hard this year to memorize all of their bible verses!
This week is Elody's preschool program and Camryn's end of the year picnic. I love being able to celebrate with the girls and I love even more that in less than a week I will have the girls home for the entire summer!

Sunday Snapshot #18~ The Circus Is Coming!

Thursday night was the kindergarten circus at Morton. This is a long-time tradition at Morton school and it was so much fun! Camryn has been singing the songs for a month now so I was more than ready to see it all put together.

getting ready

ready to go!

Time for the clowns

Camryn's wig kept falling off :)

their songs were SOOO cute!

Camryn with Mrs. Leth
the strongmen were sooo cute!
I tried to piece together clips of each act, I am missing the strongmen and the seals because the battery was almost dead but I think we got a little of everything else. We also got almost all of the songs they sang as a group, we missed the beginning of the bear song :(

I had to split the video into 2 parts to upload it. If you only want to see Camryn, the clowns are about 6 minutes in on the first video. She also sang songs with the group throughout the entire video. If you watch it all it is about 15 min, I cut out about half of it.
Part 1 includes the intro, bears, lovely ladies, cowboys/cowgirls, clowns, and an elephant song
Part 2 includes elephants, jugglers, seals (song only), lions, and the finale.
