More fun at the ranch

This was Elody's first trip to Grandma and Granddad's and to the ranch. Unfortunately she is a little too young to enjoy it but I think everyone enjoyed getting to see her. Elody's newest talent is that she can hold her own bottle. I'm sure nobody else cares about this but it makes life much easier in general for us and certainly makes traveling easier.

Apparently Elody had a bit too much excitement for the day and decided to take a little nap in the middle of the living room .

One more picture of Camryn's fun at the ranch. There were two cows in the corral that Camryn got to see. I think she liked them more than they liked her. The cows ran away when Camryn came over. She kept yelling through the fence "cows, come here" and then she would moo at them. I don't know if she thought that she should be speaking in their language or what, but it was quite funny. Later she got to see more cows when she went with daddy and Uncle Bob and drove through the pasture to find a tractor.

Fun times at the ranch

This was Camryn's first trip to the ranch since she was only 5 months old so it was her first time to really explore.

First thing when we got to the ranch she spotted a tractor. I don't know why this child is obsessed with tractors but she is. I guess if Grandpa Jack has to have so many granddaughters he ought to at least get one with the same interests as him. Anyway... she was very excited to get to finally sit on a tractor.

Then she discovered the 4-wheeler. I think she would have taken off for a cruise if we would have let her.

Unfortunately for her, she only got to ride with dad or mom. But she really liked that too!

Then the highlight of the trip... Camryn got to ride with Uncle Bob in a "Big Tractor" (as she calls it).

It was so much fun we had to go back...

On our way home from Grandma and Granddad's we stopped at Fort Cody Park again. This time the rides were going and Camryn had even more fun I think.

We started on the carousel since she has been on it before and it doesn't scare mommy too much.

Next she talked us into the Ferris wheel, which of course made us more nervous than Camryn. She was so funny though because she would just sit there and wouldn't act like she was having any fun but then she would get off and tell us all about it. "Up, down, up, down..." in the words of Camryn (including the arm motions of course!)

Then of course we couldn't miss riding the train.

Then she saw kids on the another ride and had to try it. I am still surprised that I would let her on it but we did and it went very fast (well fast for a 2 year old at least). She kind of looked like she might throw up the whole time and when she got off she walked a little funny. Needless to say we went back and rode all the other rides again but not this one.

Camryn's new favorite park!

On our way to Grandma and Granddad's this weekend we stopped at Fort Cody Park in North Platte and Camryn had a blast. Camryn has had a love for trains since she was very young so it was very exciting to see a real train up close.

I'm not sure if she looks really small or if the train just looks really big! She really liked being able to go inside the train and even pretend to drive. Mommy and Daddy really liked that Camryn is getting old enough to enjoy things like this. It is so much fun to watch her explore new things and get excited about them.

Fun in the Sun

Camryn loves to be outside. Here are some of my favorite recent pics. She found an ant... she's obsessed with bugs!
Her new sprinkler is pretty funny!

Showing off her piggies! (Yes she finally has enough hair that she is starting to look like a girl)

Updates and videos

I cannot believe how fast both of the girls are growing, Camryn had another birthday and Elody is already 4 1/2 months old! They are both growing and changing every day and I hate that I miss so much.

Elody has been sick this week and got to spend two days home with daddy. The girls also got to stay home one day with their Grandma Teresa. On Wednesday Elody finally rolled over from her back to her front and I actually did see it. Daddy and Tonya both say that they haven't seen her do it so I think I actually got to see the first time! Elody has also started eating cereal (but has also stopped for a bit because of being sick). It won't be long and she will start on veggies too!

Camryn is still a little ball of fire. She never slows down and would be perfectly content to live outside. She recently has learned all of her letter sounds which I of course am very proud of. We just hope that she doesn't forget them. She used to be able to count to 10 perfectly and now always seems to mess it up. I guess we still have a few years until kindergarten so I'm not too worried.

As for me, I am finally able to catch up on all of this since summer school ended yesterday. And since I am not teaching this fall (as far as I know right now) I will be able to see many more "firsts" for both of my girls. Hopefully our house will sell someday and we will be able to move back to Hastings so the girls will be able to get to know their cousins better.

There isn't much to say about Brian I guess. He is still making the long drive to Minden everyday and will hopefully finish up his work for Orthman's soon. I think he enjoys being outside as much as Camryn, which works out well for her, but I think he would probably rather go golf than blow bubbles. Although he seems to enjoy that too.

I am putting a couple videos on so everyone can see how much both of the girls have grown, I hope you enjoy!

We are putting this one on here for those of you who don't get to see Camryn very often. Her new favorite activity is playing in the water, ANY WATER! I still can't watch her play in the water without remembering her last year in her little pool, she was a tank! I think she weighed the same amount as now but was half as tall.

Also I finally got her on video telling us some of the letter sounds. She of course had better things to do and would not do all of them for us.

Camryn is TWO!

Camryn's 2nd birthday was Saturday and she had a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse birthday party. She did pretty good for only being two but I think she would have enjoyed the day a little more if it hadn't been cold outside. I thought it was supposed to be warm in June!!!

Camryn was fascinated by the fire...

and she blew out the candles... a couple times

she was very excited when she blew them out!

she was thrilled with all the clothes and books she got ;)

and Elody enjoyed the day too!

New Pictures!

We finally got decent pictures of Camryn again and even a couple of both girls in the same picture. Camryn hasn't really cooperated when it comes to doing pictures since her one year pictures a year ago. Anyway, we did Camryn's two year pictures and Elody's 3 month pictures both a little early. I posted a few of our favorites.

My two girls

We tried to get pictures of the two girls together but haven't been able to get anything too great yet. I did get a few that are pretty cute though so I will share what I have.

Most of the time they stared at each other. I think Camryn was in shock that she was getting to hold Elody and Elody was probably also in shock that we were letting Camryn hold her!

A little sisterly advice.
I think Camryn was telling Elody secrets (probably about how to drive her parents crazy).

More Big News

Still no news about the baby but we do have some big news about our other "baby." Camryn has decided that since she won't be our baby much longer that it is time she started using the potty. So yesterday she went potty three times and poopy twice. And today we have already gone poopy twice and potty a few times. I know that might not be exciting to some of you but she is very proud. Brian and I on the other hand, although we are proud, are really tired of sitting in the bathroom because of course she wants to go all the time!
