Wow how time flies!

Tomorrow is a big day for Elody. She is headed to daycare! She actually went on Friday for a test run, but only stayed a couple hours. I cannot believe that she is already 6 weeks old and I already have to go back to work. I think she enjoyed watching all the other kids on Friday and will be fine there, but I of course would much rather take her to school with me.

Since today was our last day together without papers to grade and lesson plans to write Elody and I decided to go shopping in Kearney. She was an angel of course and we found that we can get much more shopping done without daddy and Camryn. While we were at the mall Elody stopped to see the Easter bunny. I'm not quite sure why one needs to visit the Easter bunny weeks before Easter but he was there so we stopped.

If you want pictures

For those of you who want pictures of Elody- there is an album on the left hand side of the blog that contains all of the picture we have. I can get any of these in whatever size you want. I made some of them black and white but not all of them. If you want one in black and white that isn't I can do that too. Let me know if you have questions and also let me know which pics you want of our little princess.

Elody's first St Patrick's Day

I'm still trying to get a decent picture of the girls together. This one I finally got them both to look at the camera but I still don't love it. Probably because Camryn's hair is a mess (as always) and Elody is still in her pajamas... Oh well!

Here is Elody in her "Mommy's Lucky Charm" shirt. I cannot believe that she will be five weeks old tomorrow. That means I don't have much longer to stay home with her. Elody had her 1 month checkup last week and she is already 11 pounds 14 ounces!!! That's 3 1/2 pounds in a month!

Elody's Pictures!

We had Elody's pictures taken about a week ago and they are finally ready! I know I am biased since I am the mom but I love them. Camryn of course didn't want to cooperate for any big sister pictures but Elody did amazing! Our photographer's blog is http://d-ecklund.blogspot.com/ and then you can view Elody's pictures by clicking on her name on the right hand side. Let me know what you think and if there are any that you just love, I am having a hard time deciding which ones to order.

My two girls

We tried to get pictures of the two girls together but haven't been able to get anything too great yet. I did get a few that are pretty cute though so I will share what I have.

Most of the time they stared at each other. I think Camryn was in shock that she was getting to hold Elody and Elody was probably also in shock that we were letting Camryn hold her!

A little sisterly advice.
I think Camryn was telling Elody secrets (probably about how to drive her parents crazy).

Where does the time go?

It's hard to believe that Elody will already be a month old this week. She is much more alert now and growing like a weed. Big sister Camryn is still very helpful but getting better about letting mommy do things too. Still if I am feeding Elody I have to also hold Camryn (along with her blankie, pillow, milk, and 2 monkeys).

In other news:
Brian's last day at Orthmans was Friday and he starts at Royal tomorrow. He is very excited to go back there but none of us are looking forward to the longer days.

Also, as of last Tuesday, our house is officially on the market. This means I have done nothing but clean every spare minute I get. I held the realtor off from taking indoor pictures until tomorrow so I'm sure I will be up tonight trying to get everything clean.

Almost 2 weeks already!!!

Wow, I cannot believe that Elody is already almost 2 weeks old. She is already growing like a weed. At her one week check up she was up to 8lbs 12oz (a 7 oz gain). I'm sure now she has gained even more. She definitely likes to eat!

Camryn is enjoying her role as big sister (most of the time) and is extremely helpful. This morning Elody was laying on the changing table and Camryn delivered a bottle, the binky, an outfit, a blanket, and a pair of shoes. All of which Camryn thought Elody needed desperately.

I am shocked at the similarities between Elody and Camryn already. They look very much alike and already I find myself saying, "Camryn always did that too." For example, both of my girls cannot sleep unless their hands are by their face. If I swaddle Elody with her hands by her side then she will squirm until her hands are loose and then she will go to sleep.

I don't have very many new pictures (I have to get on that) but I am posting a few since the ones Brian posted were taken when she was only a few hours old. I meant to get pictures on right away and take off the horrible picture with me in it but I have been a little busy and am just now finally getting around to it. The picture with the hat makes me laugh. I swear it is the cutest hat ever until you put it on, then for some reason she reminded me of the pope! Anyway, enjoy and I will try to get better pictures on soon.
